Sometimes we use the word "addiction" as kind of a joke. We might say that we are addicted to chocolate or a certain restaurant or even a hobby. But addition is far more serious than that as it usually encompasses one's whole life and can lead to a life that is fraught with problems. You see, when you have an addiction, you tend to focus most of your time, energy and money on it. Boundaries may be lose or missing. Pursuit of the substance or activity is paramount in the mind and because of this, there isn't much room for other things.

As a result, your business will likely suffer. You see, when you are starting or building a business, you need to be able to really work hard at least at the beginning so that you will have all the pieces in place and make sure that any glitches are removed. If your interest is divided, you will not be able to do this with the speed and accuracy that will quickly bring resolution and efficiency.

People who have a love addiction, become distracted from the tasks and responsibilities that a business owner needs to fulfill. It can be very complicated if you have a number of people in your life and, if they are all part of your love addiction, you will soon find that you are tired, scrambling to juggle all the players and duties in your life as well as limited in tie for work duties. What started out as a fun dream fantasy might become a horrible nightmare situation. It sneaks up on you and before you know it, you are caught in a situation that drains you and your energy, money and time.

Addiction is a jealous lover that wants all of you and will not stop until you take a very firm stand against it. In order to do that, you might need to get some professional help. But, in time, you will soon find that you have regained all of the things that you really want and need - your health, time, money, relationships, energy, and yes - your business. In fact, you will likely be strongly than ever once you regain priorities and are able to focus on the things that will build you and the things that are important in your life. The starting point though is to recognize that love addiction can hurt your business.
